Our Beginnings
Panama Lex Advice (PANALEXA) was born from the dream of four university students passionate about justice and law: Juan Ramón Escala, Edgar Adib García Vargas, and Ogami R. Rivera Cano. This dream came true on March 4, 2015, with the founding of the firm, a milestone that included the incorporation of young Bocas del Toro lawyer Alexander Cossio Amador. Despite his youth, Cossio Amador already stood out for his brilliant career in the private legal market, bringing dynamism and vision to the project. Together, these founders laid the foundations for a firm committed to offering Concrete Solutions for each Client. From its inception, PANALEXA established itself as a forensic firm with a clear vision: to lead the development of judicial processes in Panama through legal and expert services of excellence. The firm focused on providing ethical and effective responses to complex cases, gaining recognition for its professionalism and dedication. This initial approach allowed PANALEXA to build a solid reputation, participating in significant cases that marked its trajectory in the forensic field.
Evolution
However, on August 24, 2023, PANALEXA faced a crucial moment with a restructuring that redefined its leadership. Following this process, attorneys Ogami R. Rivera Cano and Alexander Cossio Amador consolidated their positions as founding partners, along with the addition of attorney José Luis Guerra Saldaña. This new structure strengthened the firm's strategic direction, aligning it with its commitment to offering personalized solutions tailored to the needs of its clients. As a result of this restructuring, PANALEXA significantly expanded its scope of services. While maintaining its strength in litigation, especially in the criminal field, the firm incorporated key administrative services, such as immigration, trademark registration, and translations, led by partner Cossio Amador. This diversification allowed PANALEXA to address a broader spectrum of legal needs, reinforcing its motto of concrete and accessible solutions.
Our Current Events
At the same time, partner Rivera Cano promoted the expansion of expert services through strategic alliances established since 2024. These alliances included collaborations with experts such as forensic psychologist Jill Manuel Small, forensic chemist Albano Díaz, and criminalist Mario Miguel Brathwaite, who have enriched the firm's ability to tackle complex cases. These relationships, forged over the years, have been fundamental in consolidating PANALEXA as a leader in expert analysis.
An important milestone in PANALEXA's history has been its memorandum of understanding with the forensic firm Panama Legal and Administrative Service Group (PANLASERV). This agreement, established to benefit both parties, has allowed PANALEXA to optimize resources, share knowledge, and expand its reach in the Panamanian legal market. This collaboration reflects the firm's innovative and collaborative approach, aligned with its vision of leadership. Throughout its history, PANALEXA has demonstrated its commitment to excellence through its participation in landmark cases.
